Humble beginnings

Doyle says, "We were doing the trim work on an apartment complex in Gainesville, and they were putting vinyl siding on them. I saw the value of the low maintenance product with the guarantee and warranty that this vinyl carried." He immediately began to use the vinyl siding on a duplex that he was building, and also on his own home to cover cedar siding that was badly in need of repair. From this point on, vinyl siding became a dominant part of the business. Sims hired crews to do installation on spec and established homes. 

Scott Sims, Doyle's son, came to work for the company as an installer in 1985, and within that same year Doyle incorporated the business as Trim-Co. In the early 90s, Wayne Sims, Doyle's brother, came on board as an installer as well. That's when Trim-Co. expanded even more. In December of 1999, Doyle and Scott purchased the property on Hwy 211. In October of 2000, Trim-Co. hosted an open house to show off their new facility. Their prime location gives contractors and homeowners the opportunity to come in and see the vinyl siding and other products on display. 

Today, Doyle Sims is the main outside salesman and Scott Sims handles operations. Because of their hands-on experience, they know a quality installation job firsthand. Their hometown approach to salesmanship has allowed Sims to have tremendous growth at Trim-Co Exteriors, Inc.
